Hot! NFL Picks: Week 15

Can the Bears, sans Brian Urlacher, defeat the Packers in Week 15?

Every week, Nick and Mike examine the NFL lineup of games, check the betting line, and make their predictions against the spread. We also throw in the result of ESPN.com’s Madden NFL ’13 simulations for some added flavor.

If our six week experiment making these weekly NFL picks has proved anything, it is that we are decidedly average at deciphering the spread, and that perhaps artificial intelligence is no substitute for real intelligence. Last week, Mike (8-8) came away the victor in the standings, with Nick (7-9) one game behind and Madden (6-10) another game behind that. With only two weeks left in the regular season, and with the the Fantasy Football playoffs upon us (C’mon, Aaron Rodgers!), time is running out for either Mike or Madden to score a comeback victory over Nick in the league pick’em.

Week 15 features big time Sunday match ups between AFC (Denver at Baltimore) and NFC (Green Bay at Chicago) powerhouses.

Thursday Night Football on NFL Network

Cincinnati (-3.5) at Philadelphia

Nick (CIN): Cincinnati won’t allow last week’s let down against Dallas to keep them from taking care of business against a weak and injured Eagles team.
Mike (CIN): I look for Andy Dalton, AJ Green and the Bengals to have a bounce back game against an Eagles team that has very little to play for.
Madden (PHI): We did a double take when reading the Madden simulation recap for this one. With his team down by six points late, Bengals RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis takes a short reception 63 yards to the house. Cincinnati wins by one, 24-23, but fails to cover the spread.
